The 2012 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este will once again host an amazing world premiere and, using this method, develop its tradition just like a gathering in the industry's leading coachbuilders. The premiere under consideration might find the time-honoured Milanese coachbuilder Zagato synergy with BMW to unveil the consequence of unique collaboration: the BMW Zagato Coupé.

Zagato did in close collaboration to produce a thrilling and emotionally charged coupé in the finest tradition of automotive workmanship. The BMW Zagato Coupé embodies the unbridled fascination of cars and fuses the appearance DNA of these two companies in to a fresh and desinctive whole. This one-off model may be the product of numerous hours of skilled hand-craftsmanship and breathes new life to the tradition of coachbuilding.

The proportions from the BMW Zagato Coupé alone exude the commitment of the really special driving experience. The extremely long bonnet, greenhouse set well back and double bubble roof and Kamm Tail summarize the dynamic focus from the car as merely a coupé could. The flowing roofline melts away in to the compact, muscular rear, where the car's power is used in the street. This sculptural and visually striking surface treatment methods are a Zagato hallmark and lends the BMW Zagato Coupé a distinctive and instantly recognisable personality. The top treatment, however, is clearly inspired by BMW. The car's dynamic silhouette sees precise lines forging a path over taut surfaces for the rear. Surfaces moulded with eye-catching depth underline the sporting statement from the BMW Zagato Coupé. "For me, the BMW Zagato Coupé holds a very special magic. It exudes a particular spontaneity which, when combined with kind of unconventional solutions usual for Zagato, lend the automobile a very individual elegance," says Zagato chief designer Norihiko Harada.

The contoured bonnet develops this dynamic flair using its sweeping lines and taut surfaces. Some air intakes integrated into the bonnet send extra supplies of air in to the engine compartment and highlight the existence of the high-performance engine beneath. The contours in the bonnet are acquired through the double-bubble roof because the lines of the body carry on to the trunk from the car. Both of these domes included in the dwelling in the roof are a signature feature of Zagato design minimizing the front area. In addition to providing greater headroom when wearing head gear around the track, the double bubble ("doppia gobba") roof also improves the car's aerodynamics and increases the roof's torsional rigidity. The rooftop of virtually every Zagato features this design.

The interior is clearly structured, in customary BMW style, and invites the keen driver to simply accept helm. This character was acquired through the Zagato designers and given further emphasis with a unique colour and materials concept. Exquisite materials and high-quality details offer an extremely stylish showcase for your interior's sporting flair and driver focus.

Additional elements fitted manually, for instance lines of horizontal type in the instrument panel and doors, heighten the interior's feeling of sporting elegance. The lines culminate in a dynamic upward curve for additional sporting effect. The underside colours for that exclusive leather trim certainly are a light and dark shade of grey. Together, they underline the horizontal geometry in the interior, while red decorative stitching within the instrument panel, doors and seats brings the colour of the body into the interior and adds extra sporting touches. A "z" embroidered to the seats is the clearest reference inside the interior towards the origins from the BMW Zagato Coupé.
