2013 Kia Ceed hatchback Specs and Review



New cee'd better and lower than its predecessor, delivering a five-door hatchback a more sporty profile. Overall length increases by 50 mm (to 4310 mm) and overall height has been reduced by 10 mm (to 1470 mm) with a lower ride height. Although based on an entirely new platform, the new cee'd to bring more of wheelbase, 2650 mm in one of the longest in the segment of C -, from its predecessor.



It's a more athletic appearance is further enhanced by a wider track. While the overall bodyshell is 10 mm narrower, the front and rear tracks have been increased (by 17 mm and 32 mm, respectively). Dependant upon the individual market preferences, new cee'd will be available with a wide selection of engines offer power outputs 90-135 ps. In much of Western Europe will have two gasoline engine - 1.4 MPI and 1.6 GDI produces 100 ps and 135 respectively - plus two diesel - a 1.4 WGT with output 90 ps and 1.6 VGT diesel is offered in two the state of tune (110 and 128 ps). Gasoline engines 'Gamma' also offers an excellent balance between performance and economy. The most powerful, 1.6-liter GDI engine was introduced in the Kia Sportage Gamma, feature direct injection to maximize power (135 ps) and torque (165 Nm) and minimize fuel consumption and emissions. With this engine, the new cee'd will accelerate to 100 kph in 9.9 seconds while delivering the fuel consumption of 5.8 l 100 km (5.2 l 100 km with EcoDynamics), and tailpipe emissions of CO2 from 119 g km.



All engines will be offered with a choice of manual or automatic six-speed transmission. Depending on the version, 1.6 GDI will also be available with all-new Kia six-speed Double Clutch Transmission (DCT), which improve fuel efficiency and provide smooth shifting automatic gear for maximum comfort.

New cee'd five-door goes on sale across Europe from the second quarter of 2012, depending on the market.
